Your guests won't hear the septic alarm. Your phone will.
Septic Brain monitors the pump and aerator at every property over Wi-Fi and notifies you when something is off. Catch it while it's a maintenance visit, not a mid-stay emergency.
Limited trial spots. No purchase required to sign up.

You're not on site. The alarm is.
A panel buzzer behind a rental gets ignored, silenced, or reported after checkout. By then the tank has been high for days.
A septic backup during a stay means refunds, an emergency pump-out, and a review you can't delete.
Turnover cleaners and guests don't know what a normal system looks like. Nobody is watching the pump.
With more than one property, you can't drive out to check a light. You need the same view of every system in one place.
How it works
Septic Brain is a small Wi-Fi monitor for septic systems with a pump or aerator. It watches how the pump and aerator actually behave, spots problems as they develop, and sends you a notification instead of leaving it to a panel buzzer in the yard.
- 1
Connects at the control panel
The monitor wires in at your existing septic control panel and joins your Wi-Fi. No changes to the tank, the pump, or the way your system operates.
- 2
Watches the pump and aerator
It records every pump cycle, the pump's real power and power factor, and the aerator's pressure. Over weeks, that becomes a clear picture of the system's health.
- 3
Flags problems early
A pump whose real power or power factor has shifted, or that cycles too often. An aerator whose pressure has drifted up or down, which can lead to an odor. These trends show up well before the alarm trips, so you can act on your schedule.
- 4
Notifies you, your way
When your panel alarm trips, you hear about it even if you can't hear the buzzer. Alarms and early warnings arrive as app notifications, texts, or email. Or just open the app and look.
What you'll see, for every property
Each monitored property shows its own pump and aerator behavior. Problems surface as trends you can act on between stays.

Illustrative screens. The trial app is under development and views will change.
- Pump run history
- When the pump ran, for how long, and how often. Unusual patterns stand out.
- Pump power and power factor
- Real power and power factor per cycle over time. Together they track the motor's health, so a change from normal stands out.
- Dry-run detection
- A pump running without moving water is a pump about to fail. Septic Brain notices.
- Aerator pressure
- Pressure over time. Falling pressure points to a failing diaphragm or a leak and is a common cause of odor. Rising pressure points to a clogged diffuser.
- Daily dosing
- Doses per day, run time per dose, and how both shift after you adjust the timer or the return valve that sends some pump flow back to the tank. Tune a drip or mound field with numbers instead of waiting a week to see if it's still wet.
Why rental operators want this
Early warning between stays
A pump cycling more often or an aerator losing pressure shows up before guests notice anything. Schedule service on a turnover day.
Remote alarm notification
If the float alarm trips, you know immediately. Not when the guest texts, not at checkout.
One view, every property
Every monitored system in one app. See which ones are healthy at a glance.
Share it with your septic pro
Give your service company access to the property's data. Remote diagnosis from run history and pressure trends means fewer wasted trips.
Evidence of overuse
Pump cycle counts show when a property is being loaded beyond what the system handles. Useful for occupancy limits.
Installs at the panel
No changes to the tank. A local pro or handyman can do it.
Questions
Does it work for multiple properties?
That's the plan. Each property gets its own monitor and shows up in the same account. The survey asks how many properties you have so we can prioritize multi-property features.
What does the monitor actually measure?
Real power and power factor of each pump or aerator, aerator air pressure, and the panel's alarm output. That is enough to see run history, dry running, and falling aerator pressure. A water-level sensor and a flow sensor are planned as optional add-ons for people who want to see tank inflow directly, for example to tell rain or sprinklers apart from household water.
Do I need Wi-Fi at each control panel?
Yes. Most rental properties already have Wi-Fi for guests; the monitor just needs signal where the panel is. A quick check is whether your phone still has usable Wi-Fi when you stand at the panel. If not, we are also developing range-extending options, so ask us about them in the survey.
Can my property manager or septic contractor get the alerts too?
We're designing for that. Tell us in the survey who responds to septic issues at your properties.
Does it replace the existing alarm?
No. The panel alarm keeps working. Septic Brain senses the panel's alarm output and notifies you when it trips, and adds early warnings on top.
What does the trial involve?
Trial participants get monitors, installation help, and direct access to the team. We ask for feedback and permission to learn from the system data. Details go out to everyone who signs up.
